Al Mediterraneo strives to preserve old Italian food traditions in an industry that is over-run by fast food and pre-packaged goods. We hand make our pastas, sauces, mozzarella and breads, and use local, sustainable resources for our produce, dairy and meats whenever possible. We also serve Artisan cheeses and boutique wines, seeking delightful wine varietals that are much less mainstream and mass-produced.
It is a romantic notion to seek the land where our food is grown, andp lace our hands right into the soil from which it came. That, however, is not always practical in our daily lives; but at least we can know where our food has come from- that the food that sustains our body also sustains our resources, and that it's fresh and good for us. |
